NOT a comment on this post. Although, probably could have used the inclusion of Bottoms Up to make this more relevant to the JK at 100 post. To the point however, writing to let you know how much I enjoyed reading the Z Collection: Portraits and Sketches. The paperback version I purchased second-hand online had the word PROOF printed in 54 pt. type, diagonally positioned, on the last page.

The ArtsJournal lands in my junk email inbox every morning and remains mostly unread. Sometimes, after I’ve moved it to the Inbox, I’ll take a moment to quickly scan the AJBlogs and sections below, such as Ideas, Issues, Media, People, Visual, Words, etc. and will occasionally click on one or more of those links. “Jack Kerouac at 100, the Beats in Ruigoord,” is typical of the kind of “clickbait” that attracts my interest. And especially today, as I just finished reading “Z Collection” last night. Rich with personal, first-hand experience, and cup runneth over level of glistening (none dare all it trivia) gems, discovered while reading, I repeatedly called out to my much more literate wife, Manita, with a, “Do you know who Godfrey Reggio is? Or, same question…Athol Fugard is? (“Yes,” to both). I keep thinking I wonder if my friend R. Craig Sautter, Chicago poet, author, philosophy professor, political consultant knows of Jan Herman. I’ll write to him next and see if he’ll welcome the opportunity to have me send him this copy. So basically, writing to thank you for a truly enjoyable reading experience.
