Statement of Fact

Neither soldiers
nor tourists,
we never
went to Vietnam.
In my
generation's war,
our peaceful protests
kept the peace
the best we could —
yet could not.
After Afghanistan,
after Iraq, 
we’ve come full circle 
to Iran.
