The Swiss poet Florian Vetsch, newly retired from teaching, showed a simple poem to a former high school student of his, Ida Lotz, who happens to be a singer. This inspired a collaboration with composer-videographer Steff Signer, who wrote a score for the poem and engaged Mario Baronchelli to photograph the recorded performance, turning “Nur Noch Zweimal Schlafen” (“Just two more times to sleep”) into an otherworldly love song.

(translated from the German)
Just two more times to sleep
Until you rest again in my arms
Just two more times to sleep
Until your smile lights up the sky
Just two more times to sleep
Until the earth blooms again beneath your feet
Just one more time to sleep
Until I can say ‘just one more time to sleep’
Just two more times to sleep
Until you rest again in my arms
Just two more times to sleep
Just two more times to sleep

Signe and I just back from a wedding celebration on a hillside in Sardenia where the young bride and groom exchanged vows in front of nearly 100 friends. Lovely poem and video restoring the senses as those vows did up on that hill as love is a commitment for how ever long it lasts. Back in gritty Berlin. Cody
