Let’s All Say Goodbye to Spotify

February 3, 2022 by Jan Herman

The music-streaming service claims that “listening is everything.”
But it’s tone deaf. And many agree.

As do we.

I’ve never had the misfortune of using Spotify but I’ve heard from users of Spotify about how gruesome a service it is.

And, what a disservice it is in terms of supporting people’s interest in creating AND listening to music.

I may just join Spotify so that I can quit it.

I cancelled my Spotify last week in support of real artists like Neil Young and Joni Mitchell. Spotify has been ripping off musicians and it’s about time we stop supporting this unethical company for

This is APPAULING to know…whatever happened to “free speech”?? It doesn’t state that it has to be scientifically accurate, or agree with the medical guidelines of the current state of the world. It just says you have the right to speak your mind….this Cancel Culture society is EXTREMELY dangerous; and I hope someone wakes up and realizes the reality of eliminating just because you disagree with something.

“Free speech” is about freedom from government suppression, not freedom from consequences — and quitting Spotify is at least as valid a form of free expression as podcasting lies, for musicians and patrons alike.

When someone is using a massive platform to spread misinformation that is actively doing harm — which Rogan absolutely is — it’s an entirely valid question whether he should continue to enjoy that massive platform. Vaccine denial is really a great deal more dangerous than Joe Rogan being held accountable for the lies he spreads. We’re squarely into “fire in a crowded movie theatre” territory here.

‘fire in a crowded theater” sums it up, yes.
