Life's A Pitch

For immediate release: the arts are marketable

___pun on Sirius___

May 17, 2010 by Amanda Ameer

I’ve been working on Jean-Yves Thibaudet’s Gershwin album (buy it here, why? Because JOHN WILLIAMS CLARINET CONCERTO says it’s an “excellent performance,” among other reasons), and we’re off to Sirius/XM tomorrow at 5pm. There are few things I love more (ridiculously high percent dark chocolate, pesto, Brian Stokes Mitchell) than press opportunities that beget more press opportunities. In this case, Sirius/XM will not only air the interview and in-studio performance, but they’re promoting the recording session and asking for a live audience via Twitter and Facebook. Here’s the info:

SIRIUS|XM is giving you the chance to attend an intimate session with Jean-Yves Thibaudet on May 18, 2010!

Odds of winning depend upon the speed of the responses and the number of responses received.

HOW TO ENTER:

» Send an email to:  rsvp@siriusxm.com.

» Include “Jean-Yves” in the subject line of your message or it will not be considered; » Include your full name, valid email and cell phone number.

See our Privacy Policy at sirius.com and xmradio.com.

SIRIUS|XM Radio will not be providing transportation to/from the event.

You must be at least 18 years old, and confident that you can be in the New York City area on May 18, 2010.*

*If you are selected to attend, you will receive a confirmation email with the details of the event and further instructions. Only people who have received this second email (and have been confirmed by SIRIUS|XM Radio) will be put on the guest list and will be able to attend.

When I was there with The King’s Singers they had ice cream sandwich bars in the green room fridge. Here’s hoping those have been restocked. Oh, another thing I like more than multiplying press opportunities: free ice cream.
