Life's A Pitch

For immediate release: the arts are marketable

Is this a ~challenge~?

April 21, 2010 by Amanda Ameer

I’m still furious with Ben & Jerry’s for removing Mint Chocolate Cookie from their Scoop Shops, but I will take the high road and post this news regardless.

[drum(stick?)-roll]

BonnaroBuzz.jpgFrom Nylon magazine’s website:

Last night, I got a preview of Bonnaroo Buzz, a new Ben and Jerry’s
flavor. The Manchester, Tennessee music festival’s combo, though free
of any illegal substances, still promises to give you a bit of a kick,
with a blend of light coffee and malt ice creams, whiskey caramel
swirls, and English toffee pieces.

…Although we do wonder wha’s going to happen when the Dave Matthews Band
takes to the stage. Could Magic Brownies take on Bonnaroo Buzz? You’ll need tickets to the four-day music festival for that.

Ben & Jerry’s website reports:

Just as Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival hosts an eclectic mix of music, Ben & Jerry’s is known for quite the mix of creative ingredients, making this the perfect pairing and partnership.  Not to mention we just love ourselves some good music!  Bonnaroo will generously donate their share of the proceeds to the Bonnaroo Works Fund whose goal is to further the organization’s community investment and philanthropic endeavors.

Apparently, this will be a Scoop Shop-only flavor, and the “Roo” “will be brought to you” (says the press release) on May 4. From 5-7pm at Scoop Shops across the country, there will be music playing by Bonnaroo artists and free samples of BonnarroBuzz.

Let’s propose a classical music flavor to Ben & Jerry’s. I’ll start:

Bachy Road
Crunchy Crunchy Cadenza
Etude, Chocolate?
Berry Berliozy
Fuguetta Bout It
Caramoor, Please

Your turn!

Update 12:30pm: Of course Gabriel beats my names completely with “Ligeti Split: Banana Chaos” via his Twitter feed.

Update 1:30pm: More from Twitter:

How about: Mozart Mocha? Wagner Vanilla? Puccini Peanut Butter?
Maybe they could put them all together like Neapolitan ice cream. -AA
