Pandemic Poems From Cold Turkey Press: Mistress Death

November 30, 2020 by Jan Herman

The handmade, 16-page chapbook is not about Covid-19, but the virus is present in every line.

‘How used we have become / to strangled cries.’ —Lev Ozerov, Portraits Without Words

Covid-19 has killed at least 266,000 people in the United States
since February and has enveloped nearly every part of the country.
This chart shows the average number of cases per month.

The sewn binding of the chapbook is being stitched as I type. Here are some photos of the work in progress. Specifications are 16 pp;  trim size of 260 x 200 cm.; deckle edge cover paper: Barcham Greens, 300 grams, waterleaf 1960; deckle edge interior paper: Hodgkinsons Laid. Priced at 29 euros, plus postage. Enquire for purchase here.
