Who's your book/daddy?

He has been a professional book critic for more than a decade, notably with The Dallas Morning News. Before that, Jerome Weeks ...

... was the News' theater critic for 10 years. His writing has appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Newsday, American Theatre magazine, Men's Vogue and Variety as well as on Studio 360 on NPR. Mr. Weeks was an entertainment reporter for the Houston Post and an associate editor for Third Coast magazine. He has won three Katie Awards, Texas' highest journalism prize. He has appeared on C-SPAN's Booknotes and the PBS documentary, Sweet Tornado: Margo Jones and the American Theater, now available on DVD.

He currently is critic-at-large for KERA-FM, the NPR station for Dallas-Fort Worth, and writes a column on Dallas-area arts for Tribeza magazine.

Mr. Weeks has a master's in literature from the University of Connecticut, studied toward a Ph.D. at the University of Texas and spent a year on fellowship at Columbia University. He is a member of the National Book Critics Circle and was a member of the American Theatre Critics Association, hosting their 1995 convention.

Despite all that, he's a modest fellow. And shy. With good reason.
