The Artful Manager

Andrew Taylor on the business of arts & culture

More cowbell

September 17, 2008 by Andrew Taylor

It may not rise to the level of artistic or administrative innovation, but the ability to add cowbell and Christopher Walken to any audio file is certainly a welcome distraction from actual work. The on-line extension of the classic Saturday Night Live skit shows what a little software development talent and a lot of spare time can do.

My little effort adds the cowbell and Walken to Clément Janequin’s 16th-century classic La Guerre. I think Janequin would have liked it.

Very fun. It is possible to request one additional sound clip from the software developers (for a nice exclamation point at the end of a newly-created composition)…??

How about one that incoporates our current, election season:

“I’m legendary record producer Bruce Dickinson, and I approve this music.”

    BRILLIANT ANDREW!!!
I quite agree, Jannequin would have loved it, and then had his singers try to imitate it on some strange French syllable.
