About Our Bloggers
Thanks to our wonderful bloggers: Laura Curry, Christopher Frizelle, Joshua Kohl, Nate Lippens, Haruko Nishimura and Kate Ratcliffe
Laura Curry/x-tad-bigger>/color>/fontfamily> is an interdisciplinary artist whose work is woven from her extensive research in dance, choreography, and architecture & urban design, and from her fascination with the human experience within the parameters of space. As an “environmental performance builder”, Laura's work focuses on the psychology and sociology of human behavior and human experience within specific, artistically shaped environments. June 11-13, 2006 Laura will participate in A NEW LIFE through the PUSH Institute at the Walker Art Center.
Christopher Frizzelle is the arts editor at The Stranger. He was raised in California, he went to the University of Washington for a while, he is desperately in need of bookshelves, he makes a delicious apple pie, and he knows nothing about dance.
Nate Lippens is a writer and critic whose work has appeared in The Stranger, Mobius, Index and Seattle Metropolitan Magazine. He is currently completing work on a novel titled You Know Who You Are.
Kate plays the violin and is currently in the process of befriending a harmonica. She thirsts for art.
Joshua Kohl is a Founder, Conductor, Composer and Co-Director for Degenerate Art Ensemble, a Seattle-based music and multi art performance company. Under his direction, DAE has become a leader in contemporary performance in the Northwest. His compositions have included works for dance, silent film, concert ensembles, classico-punk-big-band and street performances - always striving to expand the possibilities of multi media art. His latest work has also involved designing and performing new types of acoustic instruments.
