Lawrence Dillon: Connecting the Dots

día a día

May 15, 2015 by Lawrence Dillon

spain-map-national-borders-most-important-cities-rivers-lakes-31930827I’m off to Spain tomorrow with the Giannini Quartet, back in a week. At some point I should thank whoever is funding this trip, but I’m unclear who that is right now, so I will wait until I know what I am talking about. In the meantime, here is the itinerary – 4 cities, 4 concerts, 2 classes:

MONDAY 18 MAY
Composition master class at Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona.

TUESDAY 19 MAY
Concert in Barcelona at the Academia de Inglés.

WEDNESDAY 20 MAY
Concert at American Space Madrid.

THURSDAY 21 MAY
Concert at NEXUS in Valencia.

FRIDAY 22 MAY
Composition master class and concert at Superior Conservatory of Music in Alicante

It’s a strenuous schedule – strenuous in the way I like it to be.  Joining us are clarinetist Oskar Espina-Ruiz, who master-minded the trip, and guitarist John Culwell. Program includes music by Boccherini, York, Dillon, Sheng, Gershwin and Bolcom.
