Mi libro finalmente ha aparecido

At long last composer Julio Estrada tells me that my book on Conlon Nancarrow is now available in Spanish, from the University of Mexico Press. I'm awaiting a copy in the mail. Here (in the right column) is the only advertisement I can find for it. Espero que seas ayudado por esta publicación.

What's the relation of this book/translation to Carlos Sandoval? (just asking)

KG replies: Carlos did the original translation, but it was afterward modified by others.

You can find some of Estrada's recorded works in these albums:
-"Xenakis/UPIC/Continuum" on the Mode label.
-"Donaueschinger Musiktage 2006, vol. 1" on the Neos label.
-"Donaueschinger Musiktage 2002" on the Col Legno label.

All of these recordings are commercially available in the U.S. We're still waiting for the re-edition of his music for strings CD on Montaigne.

I hope this helps.

any idea where I can get some of Estrada's work?
the montaigne cd is long out of print...
any help would be appreciated.

kh

KG replies: Nope. Anyone else?

This is terrific news. I've been wanting to get a hold of this book both for my personal study/enjoyment and to use in my analysis classes. I teach at the Conservatory of Chihuahua, so a Spanish version is better.

Thanks for the news.

Que bien - felicidades!
