I think Schoenberg beat you to that, what with "Moses Und Aaron".

I am so in agreement about your comments of theatrical content in Jewish holidays, particularly Pesach. I always thought the Hagaddah and its text and contents would make a great opera. To me, it's got all the power of Wagner's "Parsifal" which is a mainstay in opera houses around Good Friday. All the Jewish holidays would make great librettos for opera....and you don't have to be a Jewish composer! A sissen Pesach.
