Matt Lehrman

Matt Lehrman is a champion for the cause of audience building. As principal of Audience Avenue, Matt travels the country helping organizations – and entire communities – find new ways to engage all sorts of audiences and visitors in arts & cultural experiences.

Through his AUDIENCES EVERYWHERETM workshop, organizations of all sizes & missions learn strategies and skills that build new pathways to audience engagement in ways both respectful of mission and embracing of entrepreneurial opportunity.

In ten years as founder & CEO of Alliance for Audience & ShowUp.com, Matt led a pioneering initiative within Arizona’s arts & cultural community to transform public engagement with the sector. This collaborative effort raised the visibility of theatre, music, dance, art & cultural attractions statewide, and inspired a revolutionary new approach to audience-building.

Recognized by the Arizona Republic as 2011’s Best Cheerleader for the Arts, Matt’s visionary enthusiasm & practical strategies have introduced, trained and mobilized arts & culture organizations nationwide.

Previously, Matt served as Vice President/Marketing & Communications for the Scottsdale Cultural Council, the non-profit agency that manages the arts & cultural affairs of the City of Scottsdale, including the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.

Before that, Matt held senior marketing positions in the legal and banking industries in Arizona as well as government relations positions in the real estate industry in Washington, D.C.

Matt Lehrman is a graduate of Oberlin College and was a 2007 participant of Stanford University’s joint Executive Program for Non-Profit Leadership with National Arts Strategies.
