A passion for loyalty and customer engagement runs through Matt Lehrman’s 30-year career in corporate sales & marketing, non-profit management, and as a champion for audience development in the arts & cultural sector.
As the Principal of Audience Avenue LLC, Matt works with leaders in business, non-profits and civic affairs on how to transform their customers, supporters, and communities From Apathy to Zeal™.
He has presented keynote addresses and training workshops for such organizations as the International Festivals & Events Association, Phoenix StartUp Week, Silicon Valley Creates, Culture Republic (Scotland), ArtsBoston, Austin Creative Alliance and the Miami Arts Marketing Project. His Audiences Everywhere™ and Opportunity Everywhere™ workshops have been praised as “Mind-opening, rut-clearing, possibility renewing” by arts & cultural leaders throughout the US, Canada, and the UK.
Matt also presents original workshops to CEO’s, business owners and key executives as a national speaker to VISTAGE®, the world’s leading business advisory and executive coaching organization.
As a management consultant, Matt Lehrman takes on projects ranging from customer service design to community cultural planning. He especially enjoys facilitating strategic planning sessions for nonprofit Boards of Directors.
He has conducted audience-focused residencies at Skidmore College and Texas Christian University (TCU) and serves as an adjunct faculty member at Arizona State University, where he has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in Marketing, Business Management, and Entrepreneurship.
Matt founded and was the long-time Executive Director of Alliance for Audience & ShowUp.com, a pioneering collaboration of Arizona’s arts & cultural community. In 2010, the Arizona Republic named him Best Cheerleader for the Arts and wrote, “For some, arts marketing is a career. For Lehrman, it’s a calling … His enthusiasm is genuine and infectious.”
Prior to that, he served 8 years as Vice President of Marketing & Communications for the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. For the 2013-14 season, he served as Interim Managing Director of Arizona Theatre Company.
