Matt Lehrman helps organizations and communities grow arts & cultural audiences.
Audience Avenue is his personal speaking and consulting practice. It is an outgrowth of his on-going work as founder & Executive Director of Alliance for Audience, a non-profit service organization established in 2003, based in Phoenix, Arizona and best known as ShowUp.com. The organization exists to foster collaboration among Arizona’s arts & cultural community while working to increase public participation in the state’s wealth of theatre, music, dance, art, festivals, sci/tech, culinary and cultural attractions.
“For some, arts marketing is a career. For Matt Lehrman, it’s a calling … his enthusiasm is genuine and infectious” reported the Arizona Republic, upon naming him “Best Cheerleader for the Arts” in March 2011.
Previously, Matt served as the Vice President of Marketing & Communications for the Scottsdale Cultural Council, the non-profit agency that manages the arts & cultural affairs of the City of Scottsdale, including the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.
Before that, Matt held senior marketing positions in the legal and banking industries in Arizona, and held government relations positions in the real estate industry in Washington, D.C.
Matt Lehrman is a graduate of Oberlin College and was a 2007 participant in Stanford University’s joint Executive Program for Non-Profit Leadership with National Arts Strategies.
Matt extends a personal note of thanks to his colleagues who run arts service organizations in communities throughout the US and Canada. In an informal gathering known as APASO, these passionate, professional and visionary community leaders exchange a wealth of insights and information. Their efforts demonstrate the epitome of collaborative spirit.
