This is the first time I can recall when the conference has taken place in a small city. I first attended this conference in 1996 in Boston (our keynote speaker was John Kenneth Galbraith), my introduction to work in this field, and I&#8217;m pleased that some of the attendees I met then will be coming to Bloomington. I will be speaking to the &#8220;young researchers&#8221; group (nb: I am not young) on the place of equality in public funding for the arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also in late June the CCA will host its own <a href=\"https:\/\/culturalaffairs.indiana.edu\/programs\/conferences\/index.html\">biennial conference<\/a>, and the theme this year is Democratizing Arts and Cultural Organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Center for Cultural Affairs at Indiana University in Bloomington is only four years old, but has quickly made a name for itself with conferences and a workshop series that brings together scholars and practitioners from around the world.
