They reveal the depth and complexity of the issue, and provide many links worth pursuing. A good read.<\/p>\n

But still…<\/p>\n

Go ahead and talk about diversity all you want. But in the end, the representatives of the elite art world, writing for a national newspaper, <\/a>will still say:<\/p>\n

But let’s be serious. You are supposed to like this<\/strong> art, not that <\/strong>art. This<\/strong> meaning ‘the inherited canon<\/em> [sic] of paintings, sculpture, music, dance or theater.’ And if you don’t, even if you have accomplished a thing or three in your two terms as President of the United States (but not, you know, for ‘the arts’), well, I won’t say we are mad at you.\u00a0Just ‘disappointed.’<\/em><\/p>\n
