As this contradicted what I had been thinking and saying, I found myself deep in thought. I have concluded, at least for now, that yes, I do believe that a unique pedagogy is emerging. Let me explain why, and then in my next post, how.<\/p>\n<p>The why is very much based on my unscientific observations of the learning characteristics of emerging arts entrepreneurs. For one, they respond significantly more positively to a non-linear approach in the development of business plans. But additionally, consider these observed-by-me characteristics.<\/p>\n<p>By and large, emerging arts entrepreneurs are:<\/p>\n<p>Wedded to their ideas<\/p>\n<p>Combine their arts expertise into their venture creation<\/p>\n<p>Lean toward socially conscious ventures<\/p>\n<p>Have a tendency to resist or reject negative feedback from market testing<\/p>\n<p>Are strong in marketing design and implementation<\/p>\n<p>Are strong in building and maintaining teams<\/p>\n<p>Are weak in building budgets<\/p>\n<p>These characteristics vary significantly from those observed in emerging \u201cgeneral\u201d entrepreneurs, and as such require specific planning and execution of a curriculum and learning plan that addresses the unique characteristics of emerging arts entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>He asked, \u201cwhy isn\u2019t the proposed MA, Entrepreneurship in the Arts a degree in the business school?\u201d \u2013 and I heard myself respond that I believed that there is an emerging, unique pedagogy in arts entrepreneurship.
