It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9370\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Albam-e1523083953751.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"191\" height=\"220\" \/> from the first of two <em>Jazz Greats Of Our Time<\/em> sessions that the prolific composer and arranger (pictured) recorded in the 1950s\u00e2\u20ac\u201done with star east coast musicians, the other with some of the most prominent west coast players. Albam made the east coast \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Millmoss\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in New York in 1957 with Gerry Mulligan, Al Cohn, Zoot Sims, Phil Woods, Bob Brookmeyer, Nick Travis, Art Farmer, Osie Johnson, Milt Hinton and Hank Jones. If you weren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t around in 1934, or you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know about Dr. Millmoss, or the name James Thurber means nothing to you, <a href=\"https:\/\/condenaststore.com\/featured\/what-have-you-done-with-dr-millmoss-james-thurber.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">A Spanish company has put both of Albam\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2GDBxi4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Jazz Greats<\/em> recordings on CD<\/a>. I haven\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t heard the reissue and cannot comment on the remastering quality.
