The occasion was a concert during her December tour in Japan. You may recall that in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/archives\/2007\/02\/pinky_winters_p.html\"><em>Rifftides<\/em> review<\/a> of her new CD recorded in 1983, I emphasized that she is singing beautifully these days.
