Clark was a pianist who in a tragically short career attracted a substantial audience. His command of the keyboard and personalization of the style that he developed with Bud Powell as his initial model also earned him the esteem of his peers. Bill Evans created an anagram of Clark\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s name as the title one of the compositions in his album <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Conversations-Myself-Bill-Evans\/dp\/B0000047CV\/?_encoding=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;keywords=Bill%20Evans%20Conversations%20with%20Myself&#038;linkCode=ur2&#038;qid=1404366624&#038;s=music&#038;sr=1-1&#038;tag=rifftidougram-20\"target=\"_blank\"><em>Conversations With Myself<\/em><\/a>. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153NYC\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s No Lark,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d recognized the struggle with drugs that led to Clark\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s death in 1963 at the age of 32.<\/p>\n<p><p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Cool Sruttin\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\u00e2\u20ac\u009d is the title tune of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Sonny-Clark-Struttin-Japan-QIAG-16001\/dp\/B007HQNIJU\/?_encoding=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;keywords=Sonny%20Clark%20Cool%20Struttin&#038;linkCode=ur2&#038;qid=1404364965&#038;s=music&#038;sr=1-15&#038;tag=rifftidougram-20\"target=\"_blank\">a timeless album<\/a> that is a monument to Clark\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s talent. The other members of the band are Art Farmer, trumpet; Jackie McLean, alto saxophone; Paul Chambers, bass; and Philly Joe Jones, drums.
