Hancock won the JJA\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 2014 award for Lifetime<a href=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/JJA-Awards.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/JJA-Awards.jpg\" alt=\"JJA Awards\" width=\"200\" height=\"190\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-5799\" \/><\/a> Achievement In Jazz. McLorin Salvant was named Up And Coming Artist of the Year and Female Singer of the Year. Shorter is another double winner; JJA members named him Musician of the Year and his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/2013\/08\/recent-listening-wayne-shorter-quartet.html\"><em>Without A Net<\/em><\/a> album of the year. Schneider (pictured) hit a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Maria-Schneider-facing-right.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Maria-Schneider-facing-right.jpg\" alt=\"Maria Schneider facing right\" width=\"140\" height=\"174\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5800\" \/><\/a>triple:  She won as Composer of the Year and Arranger of the Year, and her big band as Large Ensemble of the Year. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wroyalstokes.com\"target=\"_blank\">W. Royal Stokes<\/a> won the award for Lifetime Achievement in Journalism. Ethan Iverson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <a href=\"http:\/\/dothemath.typepad.com\"target=\"_blank\"><em>Do The Math<\/em><\/a> was named Blog of the Year.
