In many parts of the United States, thermometers tell us that it is here. Whether you measure summer\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s arrival by time or temperature, there are few <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Davis-Dunbar.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Davis-Dunbar.jpg\" alt=\"Davis &amp; Dunbar\" width=\"204\" height=\"148\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5778\" \/><\/a>better ways to greet it than with George Gershwin\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s anthem to the season from <em>Porgy and Bess<\/em>. This duo interpretation was filmed at a 1972 Highlights In Jazz concert in New York. The bassist is Richard Davis, the guitarist Ted Dunbar (1937-1998). Respected among musicians for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scribd.com\/doc\/144792787\/Ted-Dunbar-A-System-of-Tonal-Convergence\"target=\"_blank\">his theoretical knowledge<\/a> and teaching, Dunbar\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s output of recordings was slight in relation to the size of his talent as a guitarist. All of Dunbar\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s recordings under his own name seem to be out of print. eBay lists his masterly <em>Secundum Artem<\/em> and a few other LPs <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ebay.com\/sch\/i.html?_nkw=ted%20dunbar&#038;clk_rvr_id=644460659022&#038;adpos=2o1&#038;MT_ID=71&#038;crlp=17145731886_2416792&#038;device=c&#038;geo_id=10232&#038;keyword=ted+dunbar&#038;crdt=0\"target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.
