Then, it gets to be \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcround midnight and it occurs to me that I have committed what my blog guru long ago said was the ultimate weblog goof&#151;dead air, white space, or whatever it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s called on the internet. So, not having the foresight to stockpile shelf pieces, I flail about looking for inspiration in hopes of finding something that will preserve the integrity of the operation or, at least, be entertaining. <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Whoa!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gradesaver.com\/a-confederacy-of-dunces\/study-guide\/section1\/\"target=\"_blank\">Burma Jones<\/a> (speaking of monumental inefficiency) often said, look who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Erroll-Garner-Head-Shot.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Erroll-Garner-Head-Shot.jpg\" alt=\"Erroll Garner Head Shot\" width=\"160\" height=\"120\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4666\" \/><\/a>came to the rescue this time: Lester Perkins, the proprietor of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jazzonthetube.com\/\"target=\"_blank\">Jazz on the Tube<\/a>. His latest video borrowed from <em>YouTube<\/em> features Erroll Garner in the BBC studios in London in 1964. So, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m borrowing from Lester\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s borrowing. <\/p>\n<p>Launching into a song and taking his sweet time about it, Erroll indulges in one of his favorite pastimes, keeping his sidemen guessing. Notice the bassist, Eddie Calhoun, as he and drummer Kelly Martin remain at the ready while the boss goes exploring.
