There are other sites on the web for that. I have every intention of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Dizzy-in-France.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Dizzy-in-France.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Dizzy in France\" width=\"150\" height=\"102\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4136\" \/><\/a>acknowledging Dizzy Gillespie\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 95th, which is today. <\/p>\n<p>The video below finds him sitting in with Johnny Griffin\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s quartet at Ch\u00c3\u00a2teauvallon, France, in August of 1971. Gillespie was 53 and at a peak of one of the great playing periods of his life. Vince Benedetti is the pianist, Alby Cullaz the bassist, Arthur Taylor the drummer. The same band appears on the Griffin DVD that is a current <em>Rifftides<\/em> recommendation (see the right-hand column).
