He wrapped all of that into a style of great individuality, intimacy, forthright conviction and humor.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d This CD captures Goodwin and pianist Skjelbred in 1977, 32 years before Goodwin\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s death. His solo on \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Russian Lullaby\u00e2\u20ac\u009d is pure joyous intensity, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Black and Tan Fantasy\u00e2\u20ac\u009d a distillation of early Ellington and Bubber Miley.
