That brief documentary sequence establishes the good feeling that prevails in this 1981 performance at Eric\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s, a New York club. From there on, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s all music. Mulligan\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s rhythm section&#151;pianist Harold Danko, bassist Frank Luther, drummer Billy Hart&#151;are locked into the spirit, one another and their leader. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a flawless set of Mulligan tunes of the period, including \u00e2\u20ac\u0153North Atlantic Run,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Song for Strayhorn\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153K-4 Pacific.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Gary Keys\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 cinematography has the intimacy of tight closeups, just enough camera movement and no cute tricks.
