He was 91. For a thorough obituary, see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2010\/05\/18\/arts\/music\/18jones.html\" target=\"_blank\">this piece<\/a> by Peter Keepnews in <em>The New York Times<\/em>.<br \/>\nThe last times I heard Mr. Jones, at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/2008\/02\/hampton_festival_days_3_and_4.html\" target=\"_blank\">2008 Lionel Hampton festival<\/a>, his elegance, celebrated evenness of touch and full command of the piano were undiminished:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The ranking master of the evening was pianist Hank Jones, playing beautifully in his 90th year. His two-piano duet partners, sixty-odd years younger, were Gerald Clayton and Taylor Eigsti. Each of the three also played a solo piece.
