He is taking for his text the extensive booklet notes I wrote for the four-CD Brubeck box called <em>Time Signatures: A Career Retrospective<\/em>. When it popped up today, I read the essay <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/CerraJazz%20-%203D%20Gird.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"CerraJazz - 3D Gird.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/assets_c\/2009\/01\/CerraJazz - 3D Gird-thumb-130x135-3001.jpg\" width=\"130\" height=\"135\" class=\"mt-image-left\" style=\"float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;\" \/><\/a>for the first time in years. To adapt what Paul Desmond used to say about recording, I didn&#8217;t have to cough too often during the playback. Bobby Militello was the flutist, Michael Moore the bassist, Randy Jones the drummer.
