Ramsay has<br \/>\nbeen a first-call sub on the Count Basie band for decades.<span style=\"\">&#8221;\u00a0 <\/span>His good-natured jousting partnership<br \/>\nwith tenor saxophonist Pete Christlieb never fails to produce hard swing and spontaneous<br \/>\nstandup comedy.<\/p>\n<p>\nRamsay celebrates his 80<sup>th<\/sup> birthday this month. Jim Wilke<br \/>\nwill observe the occasion on his Jazz Northwest radio program on Sunday, January<br \/>\n4 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time, 4:00 p.m. Eastern.  &#8221;\u00a0Wilke will include previously unissued music by Ramsay&#8217;s big<br \/>\nband, recorded in 1961.
