Her prominent recordings included &#8220;Don&#8217;t Make Your Move Too Soon,&#8221; which became omnipresent on jazz and other radio stations around the world. In his announcement, Mr. Wilke outlines his further plans for this Sunday&#8217;s program:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8221;\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Ernestine-Anderson.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-7407\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Ernestine-Anderson.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"264\" height=\"254\" \/><\/a>&#8221;\u00a0 On the eve of what would be her 91st birthday, the late Ernestine Anderson is remembered with a selection of early-, middle- and late-career recordings this Sunday on&#8221;\u00a0Jazz Northwest&#8221;\u00a0at 2 PM PST on 88.5 KNKX and&#8221;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/knkx.org\/\">knkx.org<\/a>. &#8221;\u00a0In a career spanning more than six decades, she made over 30 albums and received four Grammy nominations. &#8221;\u00a0She began in Seattle at Garfield High School with Bumps Blackwell&#8217;s Youth band, which included Quincy Jones and Ray Charles. &#8221;\u00a0She went on to perform at the greatest jazz venues, Concord and Monterey Jazz Festivals in California and Montreux in Europe, New York jazz clubs, Carnegie Hall, Hollywood Bowl, Kennedy Center, Japan, and elsewhere.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><em>Also on this week&#8217;s show is music by Portland composer Ezra Weiss, Cuban son music by Kiki Valera, Syrinx Effect and Randy Halberstadt. &#8221;\u00a0Jazz Northwest&#8221;\u00a0is a weekly showcase of regional jazz artists and activities heard Sundays at 2 PM Pacific and is produced by host Jim Wilke. &#8221;\u00a0Past shows are archived and available for streaming anytime at&#8221;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/jazznw.org\/\">jazznw.org<\/a>.
