I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll fill you in on it when I come up for air.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Getz-Stitt.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-10891\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Getz-Stitt.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"296\" height=\"146\" \/><\/a>In the meantime, let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s remember the February 2nd birthdays of two saxophonists, Stan Getz (b. 1927) and Sonny Stitt (b. 1924). In the pictures, Getz is on the left. In the video below, they are together in Los Angeles in 1956. The front line also includes Dizzy Gillespie on trumpet. The rhythm section is John Lewis, piano; Herb Ellis, guitar; Ray Brown, bass; Stan Levey, drums.
