The program comes from his recording of the second of Ms. Schneider\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s two concerts with the SRJO early this month. Her work has brought her five Grammy Awards, victories in many readers and critics polls and, recently, the National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master Fellowship, the United States\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 highest award for jazz artists.<\/p>\n<p>Jim recorded the second of the concerts, in the Kirkland Performance Center, across Lake Washington from Seattle. Excerpts from it will be featured on <em>Jazz Northwest<\/em> on Sunday, November 25, at 2 PM Pacific Time on 88.5 KNKX. It will stream simultaneously on the internet at <a href=\"http:\/\/knkx.org\">knkx.org<\/a>. The program is recorded and produced by its host, Jim Wilke, who reports that at Ms. Schneider\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s request, the broadcast will not be repeated and will not be available on demand or as a podcast.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Maria-Schneider-SRJO-2-e1542774326569.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-10674 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/rifftides\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Maria-Schneider-SRJO-2-e1542774326569.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"529\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>All of the music in the Seattle concerts was composed and\/or arranged by Ms. Schneider, and has been recorded by her New York-based orchestra, which has toured internationally and is playing this weekend at the Jazz Standard in New York City.
