{"id":830,"date":"2011-11-21T18:18:48","date_gmt":"2011-11-21T23:18:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/lifesapitch\/?p=830"},"modified":"2011-11-22T17:00:57","modified_gmt":"2011-11-22T22:00:57","slug":"aires-airing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/lifesapitch\/2011\/11\/aires-airing\/","title":{"rendered":"Aires airing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My ex-boyfriend recently alerted me to the fact that my beloved <a title=\"Dartmouth Aires\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dartmouth.edu\/~aires\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">Dartmouth Aires<\/a> have been on <em><a title=\"The Sing-Off\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/sing-off\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Sing-Off<\/a><\/em>\u00a0on NBC this season. Who knows where the incessant Dartmouth alumni alerts were about that, but I&#8217;M SURE GLAD THE NEW SPORTS CENTER IS ALMOST DONE, Alumni Relations Office. I used to cut through the gym to get home in the cold senior year, so I guess it did me some good.<\/p>\n<p>The Dartmouth Aires, though! I had this crazy host for my prospective student weekend at Dartmouth who made me go to every a cappella concert offered&#8211;and they were plentiful&#8211;instilling life-long support.<\/p>\n<p>That poor ex had to suffer through the&#8230;gosh, I think 4 CDs?&#8230;that I owned on car trips, so I&#8217;m glad he&#8217;s enjoying the Aires now.*<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"480\" height=\"360\" classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/0azGlw8mLTQ?version=3&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><embed width=\"480\" height=\"360\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/0azGlw8mLTQ?version=3&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" \/><\/object><\/p>\n<p>Recently, my assistant Declan&#8217;s mom suggested we work for the Aires (his brother went to Dartmouth, too). Gotta love the parental backseat career driving. I would have to insist that they bring back\u00a0Jim McNicholas &#8217;01 to sing &#8216;Freedom&#8217;, Adam Ballard &#8217;00 to sing &#8216;Better Man&#8217;, Eli Jorne &#8217;02 to sing &#8216;Sweet Child of Mine&#8217; and Derrick Senft &#8217;03 to sing&#8230;whatever he wanted because every girl\/boy\/rock just wanted to marry that guy.<\/p>\n<p>OK so VOTE FOR THE AIRES tonight!
