Single tickets went on sale at 11 am this morning, so I assume the demand crashed their servers? I called &#8220;Carnegie Charge&#8221; to see what was up [What&#8217;s got two thumbs and is a hard-hitting journalist? THIS GUY.], but obviously the line has been busy all morning. <\/p>\n<p>While I&#8217;m genuinely thrilled that the public-at-large is clamoring for tickets to Carnegie Hall, one wonders why they couldn&#8217;t, what&#8217;s the saying, &#8220;Make it work&#8221;?<\/p>\n<p>As my friend and client who <a href=\"http:\/\/wordlessmusic.org\/\">shall remain nameless<\/a> pointed out, if <a href=\"http:\/\/www.radiohead.com\/deadairspace\/\">radiohead.com<\/a> could handle millions upon millions of album downloads in a single day, surely <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carnegiehall.org\/SiteCode\/Intro.aspx\">carnegiehall.org<\/a> can handle single ticket web sales?<\/p>\n<p><i>Update 9\/2, 4:39pm &#8211; I just tried to buy tickets for Eric Owens&#8217; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carnegiehall.org\/article\/box_office\/events\/evt_11394.html?selecteddate=04242009\">not-to-be-missed recital<\/a> (shameless, shameless!), and the site is up-and-running. &#8220;Carnegie Charge&#8221; is still busy, though. <\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Not to be outdone by the The Metropolitan Opera, it seems the Carnegie Hall ticket website is down.
