{"id":695,"date":"2011-07-09T10:09:28","date_gmt":"2011-07-09T14:09:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/lifesapitch\/?p=695"},"modified":"2011-07-09T10:11:29","modified_gmt":"2011-07-09T14:11:29","slug":"the-time-has-come","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/lifesapitch\/2011\/07\/the-time-has-come\/","title":{"rendered":"The time has come"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Twice before I have called on you, Life&#8217;s a Pitches, to get out there and rock the vote.<\/p>\n<p>The first to make Hilary\u00a0<em><a title=\"Gramophone Artist of the Year\" href=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/lifesapitch\/2008\/08\/vote_for_hilary\/\">Gramophon<\/a><a title=\"Gramophone Artist of the Year\" href=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/lifesapitch\/2008\/08\/vote_for_hilary\/\">e&#8217;s\u00a0<\/a><\/em><a title=\"Gramophone Artist of the Year\" href=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/lifesapitch\/2008\/08\/vote_for_hilary\/\">Artist of the Year<\/a>, and we did it, Pitches, we did it. Well &#8220;we&#8221; and a really good Schoenberg album.<\/p>\n<p>The second was to get Hilary named <em><a title=\"Playboy's Sexiest Classical Artist\" href=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/lifesapitch\/2008\/09\/the_girl_next_door\/\">Playboy&#8217;s<\/a><\/em><a title=\"Playboy's Sexiest Classical Artist\" href=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/lifesapitch\/2008\/09\/the_girl_next_door\/\">\u00a0Sexiest Babe of Classical Music<\/a>. We even nabbed the\u00a0<em><a title=\"Opera Chic\" href=\"http:\/\/operachic.typepad.com\/opera_chic\/julia-fischer\/\">Opera Chic<\/a><\/em><a title=\"Opera Chic\" href=\"http:\/\/operachic.typepad.com\/opera_chic\/julia-fischer\/\">\u00a0endorsement<\/a> for that one.\u00a0Sadly, our efforts were thwarted by Julia Fischer and one suggestively placed violin. Everyone loves a prop.<\/p>\n<p>Now the time has come for our greatest challenge of all: there&#8217;s a baby alpaca out there <a title=\"Violinist dot com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.violinist.com\/blog\/laurie\/20117\/12456\/\">whose humans want to name her after a violinist<\/a>.
