On Monday night, I went to (le) poisson rouge to see The Best Band in the World<\/a>. MUCH to my surprise and delight, it seems Gy\u00f6rgy Ligeti has risen from the dead<\/i> to perform at LPR this week! Elizabeth & the Catapult, Deerhoof, Doveman, LIGETI! What a crew. <\/p>\n

This brings me to a relatively new trend on Twitter: fake composer (and in one case, composer-spouse) accounts. The front-runners for my money are @FakeArvoPart<\/a> and @CosimaWagner.<\/a><\/p>\n

Here’s foul-mouthed Arvo:<\/p>\n

There’s also @FakeLenny<\/a> and @_Elliott_Carter<\/a>, neither of which is as funny as the two above.<\/p>\n

Friend of Life’s a Pitch <\/i>Daniel Stephen Johnson is even hawking Fake Arvo Part t-shirts<\/a>: <\/p>\n

Unrelated and back to the Deerhoof concert for a moment, David Byrne showed up:<\/p>\n

And perhaps more importantly, it occurred to me during the concert that Nels Cline kind of looks like Ethan Stiefel? <\/p>\n
