{"id":570,"date":"2011-03-10T15:26:00","date_gmt":"2011-03-10T15:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/lifesapitch\/wp\/?p=570"},"modified":"2011-03-10T15:26:00","modified_gmt":"2011-03-10T15:26:00","slug":"a_rose_by_any_other_plug","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/lifesapitch\/2011\/03\/a_rose_by_any_other_plug\/","title":{"rendered":"A rose by any other plug"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apropos of nothing, I noticed two plug-in roses recently. <\/p>\n<p>I spotted the first when I went to <i><a href=\"http:\/\/arcadiabroadway.com\/index.php\">Arcadia<\/a> <\/i>last Saturday:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"ArcadiaPoster.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/lifesapitch\/ArcadiaPoster.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-center\" style=\"text-align: center; display: block; margin: 0pt auto 20px;\" height=\"700\" width=\"500\" \/>It was good, not great. I&#8217;m sure the cast will settle into it, though, since the play is basically impossible. It&#8217;s the kind of thing you really want to see on like, The Last Performance. Bel Powley as Thomasina is perfect, though. Per-fect.<\/p>\n<p>But I digress from my original&#8230;it seems silly to even call it a &#8220;point,&#8221; but&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>So yesterday, I got a brochure in the mail from my former employer, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mccarter.org\/home.aspx?page_id=1\">McCarter Theater<\/a>, and lo how another electronic rose e&#8217;er blooming! <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"SleepingBeauty.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/lifesapitch\/SleepingBeauty.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-center\" style=\"text-align: center; display: block; margin: 0pt auto 20px;\" height=\"600\" width=\"500\" \/>Upon closer inspection, the <i>Arcadia <\/i>rose appears to have an ethernet cord stem, and the <i>Sleeping Beauty Wakes <\/i>rose is an actual plug, but still. <\/p>\n<p>OK that&#8217;s all.
