When the Wildlife Conservation Society<\/a>
\nrecently discovered another beaver living in the Bronx River – the
\nfirst to be spotted there in three years, and only the second in two
\ncenturies – it did the neighborly thing and asked local residents to
\nhelp name the floppy-haired, buck-toothed little critter. And when the Bronx Zoo<\/a>
\nopened up the competition to online voting, it all but guaranteed the
\nend result: ladies and gentlemen, say hello to Justin Beaver.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the Wildlife Conservation Society said “the overwhelming majority of the votes” in a poll at bronxzoo.com<\/a> were cast for the name “Justin Beaver,” almost certainly inspired by Justin Bieber<\/a>, the 16-year-old pop singer and sometime “C.S.I.” star<\/a>.
\nJustin – the beaver, not the Bieber – joins his companion Jos\u00e9 the
\nbeaver, who was discovered near the Bronx Zoo in early 2007 and named
\nfor Rep. Jos\u00e9 E. Serrano.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

David Itzkoff reports that, “It is not yet known how much Justin Beaver charges per show<\/a> or what perks he requests on his touring rider<\/a>, but watch for him to have more than 5,000,000 Twitter<\/a> followers in a week.”<\/p>\n

Sadly, the Twitter handle @justinbeaver is taken. This is truly unfortunate, since I’m fairly certain my true life calling would have been to Tweet as Justin Beaver. <\/p>\n
