And when the <a class=\"tickerized\" title=\"More articles about Bronx Zoo Wildlife Conservation Park\" href=\"http:\/\/topics.nytimes.com\/top\/reference\/timestopics\/organizations\/b\/bronx_zoo_wildlife_conservation_park\/index.html?inline=nyt-org\">Bronx Zoo<\/a><br \/>\nopened up the competition to online voting, it all but guaranteed the<br \/>\nend result: ladies and gentlemen, say hello to Justin Beaver.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, the Wildlife Conservation Society said &#8220;the overwhelming majority of the votes&#8221; in a poll at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bronxzoo.com\/\">bronxzoo.com<\/a> were cast for the name &#8220;Justin Beaver,&#8221; almost certainly inspired by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2010\/01\/03\/fashion\/03bieber.html\">Justin Bieber<\/a>, the 16-year-old pop singer and <a href=\"http:\/\/artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com\/2010\/09\/23\/an-early-look-at-justin-biebers-c-s-i-debut\/\">sometime &#8220;C.S.I.&#8221; star<\/a>.<br \/>\nJustin &#8211; the beaver, not the Bieber &#8211; joins his companion Jos\u00e9 the<br \/>\nbeaver, who was discovered near the Bronx Zoo in early 2007 and named<br \/>\nfor Rep. Jos\u00e9 E. Serrano.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p> David Itzkoff reports that, &#8220;It is not yet known how much Justin Beaver <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thesmokinggun.com\/documents\/celebrity\/justin-bieber-banks-300000-nightly-sigh\">charges per show<\/a> or what perks he requests <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thesmokinggun.com\/backstage\/bieber\/justin-bieber\">on his touring rider<\/a>, but watch for him to have more than 5,000,000 <a class=\"tickerized\" title=\"More articles about Twitter.\" href=\"http:\/\/topics.nytimes.com\/top\/news\/business\/companies\/twitter\/index.html?inline=nyt-org\">Twitter<\/a> followers in a week.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, the Twitter handle @justinbeaver is taken.
