Upping the ante on the Elvish power ballad performed in the Lord of the Rings<\/cite>-inspired musical Fellowship!<\/a><\/cite>, Dutch sci-fi fans will stage the world’s first Klingon opera next month.<\/p>\n

The opera, titled u<\/a><\/cite>, plays at the Zeebelt Theater in The Hague, Netherlands, from September 9 through 12.<\/p>\n

The organizers have even extended an invitation to the Klingons to
\nattend a special performance of the opera. Mark Okrand, inventor of the
\nKlingon language, recorded an inter-galactic invite that was
\ntransmitted from a de-commissioned telescope station, as documented in
\nthe clip embedded below. They have yet to receive any RSVP’s from outer
\nspace.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This is all happening because, as everyone knows, Klingons love opera.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
