Eric invited me, since he&#8217;s singing with them this season (give it up for <a href=\"http:\/\/nyphil.org\/attend\/season\/index.cfm?page=eventDetail&amp;eventNum=1784&amp;seasonNum=9\"><i>Le Grand Macabre<\/i><\/a>, woot woot, what what), and being tardy would have been slightly less unprofessional, I guess, if the press conference had not been ON THE STAGE of Avery Fisher Hall. I also didn&#8217;t do myself any favors by wearing these totally inappropriate boots, and as a musician I was telling this story to earlier today reminded me, that is &#8220;not a boot-friendly stage.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow at noon EST, the NY Phil has invited press to live-blog their 10-11 season announcement press conference at the cafe at Alice Tully Hall, where as you all know, I am also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/lifesapitch\/2009\/12\/in-which-i-am-accused-of-steal.html\">prone to embarrassment<\/a>. From the NY Phil&#8217;s media alert:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Join Music Director Alan Gilbert and special guests on Tuesday, February 16 for the press conference, and report it live!<\/p>\n<p>For the first time ever, we&#8217;re inviting you to LIVE-BLOG as the details of the New York Philharmonic&#8217;s 2010\/11 season are revealed. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The proceedings will also be live-Tweeted <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/nyphil\">@nyphil<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Also tomorrow, at 10am PST (so, 1pm EST), the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laphil.com\/\">Los Angeles Philharmonic<\/a> will hold <i>their<\/i> season announcement press conference exclusively <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laphil.com\/pressconference\/\">online<\/a>. From their website:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For the first time ever, the annual LA Phil Season Press Conference<br \/>\nwill be held exclusively online. Check back on Tuesday, February 16 at<br \/>\n10 am PST to see video presentations from Gustavo Dudamel, Deborah<br \/>\nBorda, Herbie Hancock, John Adams and Thomas Ad\u00e8s.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So the way to really make trouble, it would seem, is to have one&#8217;s computer open under the guise of live-blogging the NY Phil and then use Lincoln Center&#8217;s free wi-fi to stream the LA Phil&#8217;s conference with the sound on an hour into it.
