I’d never seen This is Spinal Tap<\/a> <\/i>before last week. Judge me __here___. My friend and I were chatting as the credits were rolling and out of nowhere he goes, “Wait – pause it. Rewind. Does that say Jane Covner<\/i>??” Obviously my friend works in classical music, or else he probably wouldn’t have recognized Joshua Bell’s publicist’s name. <\/p>\n

Granted, this could be a coincidence. Publicists in California with the same name, though? Unlikely, my friends. Un-likely. I have the utmost respect for Jane<\/a>, having worked with her when I was at IMG; this would only confirm her rockstar status. <\/p>\n

I was in the Club Monaco in Soho on Monday and saw this in the men’s section: <\/p>\n

\"ClubMonaco.jpg\"<\/span>Later Monday night, I went to the <\/strong> <\/span><\/b> <\/em><\/i>B\u00e9la Fleck\/<\/span>Toumani Diabet<\/span>\u00e9<\/span><\/a> concert in Central Park. At the artist\/press entrance, I saw the following sign: <\/p>\n

\"SummerStage.jpg\"<\/span>…and promptly took a photograph. I’ve been to a lot of SummerStage<\/a> concerts, though, and have never known the “No Photography” rule to be enforced. Actually, I didn’t even know it existed; there’s no pre-concert announcement. It certainly didn’t stop old people from using their iPhones,<\/p>\n

\"CentralPark2.jpg\"<\/span>I figure I can’t get in trouble because I was just taking pictures of people taking pictures. Finally, perhaps classical music scenes<\/a> would be more easily identifiable if everyone on the scene wore the same sunglasses, like they did at the …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead<\/a> pool-less pool party in Brooklyn last weekend.<\/p>\n
