Morton\u00c2\u00a0Subotnick<\/a> re-mixes original materials of his prophetic and unprecedented late ’60s \u00c2\u00a0electronic music classic “Silver Apples of the Moon<\/a>” with kinetic imagery by video artist\u00c2\u00a0Lillevan<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0tonight (April 7)\u00c2\u00a0at the Rubenstein atrium of Lincoln Center –\u00c2\u00a0as detailed in my\u00c2\u00a0column<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0in City Arts – New York. It’s free as part of the 11-day\u00c2\u00a0Unsound Festival<\/a>,\u00c2\u00a0an extraordinary schedule of new and unusual multi-media works presented by the\u00c2\u00a0Fundcja Tone of Krakow with the\u00c2\u00a0Polish Cultural Institute in New York\u00c2\u00a0and the\u00c2\u00a0Goethe-Institute New York. Subotnick performs again <\/a>tomorrow (April 8) at Greenwich House Music School (also NYC), 6 pm.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n“Silver Apples”\u00c2\u00a0<\/i>was originally the soundtrack for the celebrity-dotted opening of NYC’s media-overload nightclub the Electric Circus (a view inside\u00c2\u00a0below). Could such an encounter of pop-culture glamour and the avant-garde come again?<\/p>\n
