They don&#8217;t address the <A class=inline\nhref=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/herman\/archives20041201.shtml#92400\"\ntarget='new\"'><STRONG><FONT color=#003399>irony of Georgie Boy&#8217;s<br \/>\ncall<\/B><\/FONT><\/STRONG><\/A> for &#8220;a full and open&#8221; accounting of the U.N. $64-billion<br \/>\noil-for-food program in Iraq &#8212; which would be a bagatelle, I suppose.  But they do take up the<br \/>\nissue as an attempt to mug the U.N. Philip Gourevitch calls it a <A class=inline\nhref=\"http:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/talk\/content\/?041213ta_talk_gourevitch\"\ntarget='new\"'><B><FONT color=#003399>&#8220;defensive assault&#8221;<\/FONT><\/B><\/A> in The New<br \/>\nYorker, out this morning. Yesterday The New York Times called it part of a campaign of <A\nclass=inline href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2004\/12\/05\/opinion\/05sun1.html?oref=login\"\ntarget='new\"'><B><FONT color=#003399>&#8220;ever-shriller attacks.&#8221;<\/FONT><\/B><\/A> Of<br \/>\ncourse, <A class=inline href=\"http:\/\/www.democracynow.org\/article.pl?sid=04\/12\/03\/1451205\"\ntarget='new\"'><B><FONT color=#003399>Democracy Now!<\/FONT><\/B><\/A> was out in<br \/>\nfront of them both on Friday. Still waiting for The Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times to<br \/>\nweigh in.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The editorials are starting to dribble in.
