Christian Miller quotes documents for the first time showing that chief<br \/>\ncontracting officer <A class=inline\nhref=\"http:\/\/www.time.com\/time\/magazine\/article\/0,9171,1101041101-733760,00.html\"\ntarget='new\"'><B><FONT color=#003399>Bunnatine Greenhouse<\/FONT><\/B><\/A> wrote her<br \/>\nobjections on a version of the $165-million extension proposal. She scrawled comments such as:<br \/>\n&#8220;I cannot approve this&#8221;; &#8220;Incorrect!&#8221;; &#8220;No! How!&#8221;; and &#8220;Not a valid reason.&#8221;<\/P><br \/>\n<P>After Greenhouse raised her objections, she was threatened with demotion. She nonetheless<br \/>\nrecorded her complaints in a letter her lawyer wrote to acting Army Secretary Les Brownlee. As<br \/>\nreported in the Times and elsewhere, Halliburton is being probed by the FBI in an expanded<br \/>\ninvestigation of alleged company overcharges of millions of dollars for fuel deliveries in Iraq.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Halliburton&#8217;s response to the Greenhouse case is the usual.
