As I was saying<br \/>\nabout the first debate, &#8220;Will voters ever get to see <A class=inline\nhref=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/herman\/archives20041001.shtml#88551\"\ntarget='new\"'><B><FONT color=#003399>what those guys were scribbling<\/FONT><\/B><\/A><br \/>\nso furiously?&#8221; I suspected the Ignoramus in Chief was doodling his mantra, &#8220;significant progress,&#8221;<br \/>\nand Kerry his counter-mantra, &#8220;four more years of the same.&#8221; <A class=inline\nhref=\"http:\/\/jameswolcott.com\/archives\/2004\/10\/another_helpful.php\" target='new\"'><B><FONT\ncolor=#003399>James Wolcott figures<\/FONT><\/B><\/A> debaters&#8217; notes, in future, should be<br \/>\nconfiscated and subjected to graphologists, &#8220;if need be,&#8221; for comparative &#8220;insight into their<br \/>\nthought processes.&#8221; Wolcott suspects that in the second debate it was &#8220;a moo-cow&#8221; doodle vs. &#8220;a<br \/>\nbetter America for you and me&#8221; diagram.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here comes the third debate.
