And for many years Britton kept those drawings private until he was prevailed upon to publish them in the book <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Self-portrait-Book-people-picture-themselves\/dp\/0394496485\/ref=sr_1_1_title_1_har?s=books&#038;ie=UTF8&#038;qid=1371214884&#038;sr=1-1&#038;keywords=Self-Portrait%3A+Book+People+Picture+Themselves\"><em>Self-Portrait: Book People Picture Themselves<\/em><\/a>. The New York Times published a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2009\/09\/24\/nyregion\/24drawings.html\">story<\/a> about Britton and the book and included a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/slideshow\/2009\/09\/23\/nyregion\/20090924-DRAWINGS_index.html\">slide show<\/a> of some of the drawings.  Ungerer&#8217;s self-portrait was not in the slide show. Well of course not. At the time he was reading <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/books\/dp\/1606995618\"><em>OWF<\/em><\/a>. He sounds like a very interesting, insightful young guy.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>As I put it in a <a href=\"http:\/\/realitystudio.org\/criticism\/review-of-malcolm-mc-neills-memoir-of-william-s-burroughs\/\">review of <em>OWF,<\/em><\/a> &#8220;Mc Neill is an artist who can write. Really write.
