I went to see Brion one last time. He wanted to show me some ink drawings. they were small; maybe 4 x 6 inches. he had recently unearthed some of these, composed under the influence of psilocybin in 1961 at the Beat Hotel. Having misplaced them until 1984, he had finished a new series of similar ink, gouache & pastel drawings. Of course I wanted to purchase one of each.he wanted $500 each. Yet I was running low on dough. I still had 300 hits of LSD 25 to sell. That would have to wait until London \u2026 Brion had been performing with Ramuntcho Matta, and there were some recordings. He was going to do a show on 8 Oct. in Paris with Ramuntcho\u2019s band, opening for Tom Verlaine. He hoped I could make it. (However, I was in Basel, preparing for London, and didn\u2019t get to attend the show.) Brion gives me a signed copy of his newest record: \u2018Junk\u2019 and \u2018Kick That Habit Man.\u2019 Don Cherry is on this record, as well as Ramuntcho\u2019s group.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
