The late poet Harold Norse, n\u00e9 Rosen, was a born maverick. His splendid Memoirs of a Bastard Ange<\/a>l <\/em>is a delicious account of his life and involvement with too many literary legends to name. But what the hell, here goes: William Carlos Williams and <\/em>W.H. Auden, Tennessee Williams and<\/em> James Baldwin, Robert Graves and<\/em> Paul Bowles, Ana\u00efs Nin and<\/em> Dylan Thomas, William S. Burroughs and<\/em> Charles Bukowski. I’ll stop there. Now Clemson University Press is planning to bring out a collection of personal and scholarly essays about his poetry<\/a> and his life, edited by A. Robert Lee and Douglas Field.The front cover of the collection makes use of one of Norse\u2019s watercolor \u201ccosmographs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
