{"id":33913,"date":"2019-03-18T13:42:05","date_gmt":"2019-03-18T17:42:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/herman\/?p=33913"},"modified":"2019-03-18T13:42:12","modified_gmt":"2019-03-18T17:42:12","slug":"patchels-plinkout","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/herman\/2019\/03\/patchels-plinkout.html","title":{"rendered":"Patchel&#8217;s &#8216;Plinkout&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Keith Patchel, a New York-based composer and producer, has created a free  online\/mobile application called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/plinkout\/free-global-music-education-software-for-school-ch\">Plinkout,<\/a> which he is touting as &#8220;the easiest way to teach anyone,&#8221; especially kids,  how to play an instrument as well as how to learn &#8220;the core cognitive ideas of music.&#8221; He&#8217;s looking for funding to complete his project, and the referees at the crowd-funding site Kickstarter agree that it is worth touting. They have recently added it to their list of favorites as &#8220;a project we love.&#8221;  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The program, <a href=\"http:\/\/keithpatchel.com\/biography\/\">Patchel<\/a> says,<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>can be used by children in school, advanced adults, and any music lover at any level, &nbsp;anywhere, anytime.
