Well, we hope so. But what<br \/>\nabout choice reading matter?<\/FONT><\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV>&nbsp;<\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV><FONT size=2><br \/>\n<BLOCKQUOTE><STRONG><EM><A\nhref=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/herman\/archives20030817.html#49448\"><FONT\ncolor=#003399>Your piece about The&nbsp;Realist<\/FONT><\/A><\/EM><\/STRONG> brought<br \/>\nme back to the <\/FONT><FONT size=2>summer of 1963 when I was a 19-year-old college<br \/>\nstudent <\/FONT><FONT size=2>delivering the U.S. mail in Forest Hills, N.Y. One of the<br \/>\n<\/FONT><FONT size=2>mail carriers had a Realist subscriber on his route and<br \/>\n<\/FONT><FONT size=2>that copy of the magazine invariably wound up in the <\/FONT><FONT\nsize=2>men&#8217;s room, where all the Post Office&nbsp;employees read it to <\/FONT><FONT\nsize=2>ribbons before it was returned to the routeman and <\/FONT><FONT size=2>delivered a<br \/>\nfew days late. No mail was ever lost, only <\/FONT><FONT size=2>delayed, to the intellectual<br \/>\nnourishment of the nation&#8217;s <\/FONT><FONT size=2>postal<br \/>\nemployees.<BR><BR><\/FONT><EM><STRONG>&nbsp;<\/STRONG>&#8212; Peter &#8220;Hurricane&#8221;<br \/>\nCarroll<\/BLOCKQUOTE><\/DIV><br \/>\n<BLOCKQUOTE><\/BLOCKQUOTE><\/EM><br \/>\n<DIV>It&#8217;s reassuring to know that Paul Krassner&#8217;s subversive literary enthusiasms infected at least<br \/>\nsome federal employees.
