Your piece about The Realist<\/FONT><\/A><\/EM><\/STRONG> brought
\nme back to the <\/FONT>summer of 1963 when I was a 19-year-old college
\nstudent <\/FONT>delivering the U.S. mail in Forest Hills, N.Y. One of the
\n<\/FONT>mail carriers had a Realist subscriber on his route and
\n<\/FONT>that copy of the magazine invariably wound up in the <\/FONT>men’s room, where all the Post Office employees read it to <\/FONT>ribbons before it was returned to the routeman and <\/FONT>delivered a
\nfew days late. No mail was ever lost, only <\/FONT>delayed, to the intellectual
\nnourishment of the nation’s <\/FONT>postal
\nemployees.
